A bassinet swing is a great way to rock the baby to sleep. For many parents, a baby that cries constantly often goes to sleep very quickly once they place him/her in the rocking bassinet or swing. Some bassinets, such as the Graco, Eddie Bauer and Winnie the Pooh bassinets, have a feature that allows you to turn the sleeping part of the bassinet into a sort of swing or rocker. Even though the bassinet rocks, it can still be pulled right up to the bedside. Many of these infant beds are height adjustable, which means you can raise then up so they are level with your bed. For nursing mothers and those recovering from a Caesarean section, all they have to when the baby wakes in the night is to reach out and take the baby right into the bed with them. When you put the baby back in the bassinet, you don't have to stay awake trying to rock the bassinet yourself or sit up in a rocking chair. The rocking motion of the bassinet is very similar to the vibration the baby feels when riding in a car. These rocking bassinets also have other attractive features such as a music box that plays lullabies. You can set the timer in five-minute increments and it will automatically switch off when the time elapses. There is also a nightlight on the rocking bassinet, so you don't have to try to turn on the lamp or get out of bed to reach the light switch. When you don't want to use the bassinet as a swing or rocker, you just adjust the wheels and it stays in the same position on the base. The base of the infant bed also has a storage space underneath where you can keep extra supplies handy, such as pampers, sleepers, powder, lotion and bedding. You don't have to have the bassinet in the bedroom all the time either. There are wheels that make it portable so you can wheel it to the living room, kitchen or den. When you want to travel, you just remove the bassinet from the base and take the infant's bed with you.
